Building Trust Through Dialogue Across Divides
The Kosovo Civic Alternative (KCA) is a civil society coalition bringing together some of Kosovo’s leading civil society organizations and independent experts. The coalition is united by a shared commitment to Kosovo’s constitutional multi-ethnic character, its Euro-Atlantic future, and the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia.
KCA works through research, facilitation, advocacy, and public communication to provide practical contributions in its areas of engagement. Alongside its collective activities, the coalition coordinates and complements the work of its member organizations, maximizing the impact of shared expertise, networks, and resources.
A defining characteristic of KCA is its multi-ethnic composition. Kosovo Albanian and Kosovo Serb members work together on the basis of a common vision, producing joint analysis, advocacy, and public engagement. Through this collaboration, KCA seeks to demonstrate that constructive interethnic cooperation is both possible and necessary for Kosovo’s democratic development. The coalition also works closely with like-minded organizations in Serbia and across the region to advance citizen wellbeing and strengthen regional cooperation.
KCA is not a project-driven initiative. It is a coalition of committed individuals and organizations who contribute their expertise, time, and resources to pursue common objectives. Many activities are implemented without dedicated funding, relying instead on the commitment and contributions of coalition members.
At the heart of KCA’s work is a commitment to constructive engagement. The coalition focuses on practical and achievable policy solutions, taking into account political and diplomatic realities while seeking to advance democratic development, interethnic cooperation, and European integration.
